One day someone finally decides to make some more episodes…
…yes, episodes…
…of one of your favorite TV series.
Yeah!!
So you read all the news about it, you make sure it’s not a joke, you look forward to the day it will be aired…and you don’t watch it.
No, you don’t.
‘cause meanwhile you decided to re-watch all the previous series while waiting for the big finale and you’re not done yet. You spend days telling people you don’t want “the final for words” to be spoiled, neither the boyfriend Rory’s gonna choose or who are those two kids in the trailer. You’re most probably going to watch it on Christmas Day, if your plans are well made. That, really sounds great to you!
So, while watching those old episodes you find yourself thinking a lot, realizing how much has changed in the last 15 years and also understanding where some of your dreams came from, at least part of them. For example you finally get where and why you decided you wanted to become an event planner. You’ve been looking for that moment for months and all of a sudden there you are, feeling exactly how you felt the first time your heart had a strange beat at the thought of it. Or you smile thinking that you may haven’t receive “the big envelop” but an email telling you that you would have study in New York, but you felt as proud as Rory was when she got into Harvard. Or, speaking about Harvard, you realize that you were fascinated by Harvard’s squirrels as much as Lorelay was on her trip there. You also laugh at your desire to become a mother at 16 yo but you still think that it would have been better then than now. For sure you’re still wishing for those grandparents and their money, this is something that haven’t changed at all. Oh, and every episode you can’t help it but to think about the dear friend of yours that once told you “the man that will get your heart is the one that will sing this song to you!”, referring to the theme song.
You dreamed big while watching Gilmore Girls, didn’t you? Maybe your dreams where already inside you, but we all need a cathartic moment for each dream in order to remember where everything started, don’t we? So, you’re basically reliving those magic moments and you feel stronger, powerful, alive…happy.
One day you’re 12 and another American TV series changes your life, and the next day you’re 28, you’re gonna start a new chapter of your life, and you hope the new episodes of that show will make you dream as much as the old ones did. Of course, you also wish the dreams will become true as much as the old ones did. You have high expectations. You hope to find inspiration, as once happened.
Inspiration comes from everything you do, watch, read or listen to. Inspiration is one of the most amazing gifts someone can ask for. Inspiration make you do things you never imagine yourself capable of. Inspiration is strength, ‘cause without it I don’t even know if you can dream of something. And a life without dreams…well…what a waste!
Dear Santa,
may I have some more inspiration this Christmas?
Love,
Nadia
