Winx Cruise on MSC Magnifica - 3/10 September 2016
Winx Cruise on MSC Preziosa - 20/27 March 2016
Winx Cruise on MSC Poesia - 5/12 September 2015
Thanks to my first experience (March 2015) as Event Planner for the "Winx Cruise", I got offered from MSC Cruises to be in charge of it again and again. It is always with my pleasure that I accept and enjoy this event to which I am personally and professionally attached.
I actively participate in the organization of the cruise in every aspect from land and onboard, coordinating the Winx’s events with the Kids Club’s program draft for the fleet. I personally organize and set up the activities paying specific attention to details that make each event different and each cruise unique. I decorate the lounges and coordinate other departments involved, host all the activities in the six onboard main languages and I am the contact person for the Winx girls and their manager, as well as for the Cruise Director’s office and the Kids Club.
It is always a wonderful experience, perfect example of how hard work and professionalism lead to high quality projects, despite the challenge of working every time with new colleagues and supervisors.
It is a lot of work because the Company entrust me of every decision but it is always worth it; I have the opportunity to demonstrate my abilities in problem solving and interpersonal communication when some misunderstandings with passengers come up, always in constant communication with the management onboard an on land.
Amazing experiences.
Press Cruise - 28 September/1 October 2016
Press Cruise - 22/25 October 2015
Representative of the Company for groups of journalists onboard MSC Sinfonia and Opera to try the experience of a cruise with kids and teenagers as well as to see how the ships changed thanks to the “Renaissance Project”. Coordinator of all the activities that involved the groups such as tours of the ship and the kids and teens areas, meetings with the onboard Doctor and the Corporate youth activities coordinator, excursions and all the normal cruise events. During the cruises I gave them all the information not only about the entertainment activities but on the “Renaissance Project” and the Company itself too. I also had the pleasure to introduce for the first time to the press MSC Web Serie “Kelly & Kloe” and related youth activities.
In addition, I have also been Chief Entertainer for the 2015 cruise, therefore I planned the activities not only for the 4 days but also for the next cruise, organized the entertainment team, supervised the activities, hosted special kids events and did all the back office work.
Thanks to these cruises I had a chance to implement my communication and journalism knowledge from a different angle and improve my competences as Chief Entertainer.
Once I graduated I decided to go back onboard in order to find again the serenity that lost intensity because of the life style change and to rediscover the motivations that once inspired me to enroll at college.
The season onboard MSC Divina has been an enjoyable déjà vu because, for the third time, I was onboard a new ship of the Company that was cruising to the Caribbean for the first time; which means be part of a project of specific and special activities realized for the occasion. The season onboard MSC Magnifica in North Europe has been rich of pleasing memories too and I have been promoted as Chief Entertainer for the last month. It has not been an easy experience because the season was already going and I had to be my colleagues' boss. Onboard MSC Splendida in the Mediterranean Sea I had the chance to organize Christmas, New Year's Eve and Easter events for the first time as Chief Entertainer, as well as my first “Winx Cruise”.
I embarked for 3 seasons (4/6 months each) on 3 different ships of the fleet in the Mediterranean Sea area, North Europe, Caribbean and North America.
Main activities and responsibilities as Chief Entertainer:
- Plan all the activities for kids and teenagers (0-2, 3-6, 7-11, 12-14, 15-17 y.o.) in cooperation with the Cruise Director's office;
- Draft programs, flyers, invitations (Publisher, Word) and videos for the activities (Movie Maker, Power Point);
- Supervise the activities;
- Manage events;
- Host the main activities in different languages;
- Manage the entertainment team and plan schedules and responsibilities;
- Coordinate the program with all the other departments;
- Manage back office work, on land and onboard supervisors relationships, as the team representative too;
- Run and motivate the team trying to be part of it as much as possible;
- Handle problems with guests and in the team.
Work under a part-time contract thanks to the "200 hours Project".
Main activities and responsibilities:
- Help the secretaries in charge of the University's bursars' office, goods and chattels, real estate and founds management;
- Collaborate in the student's elections organization;
- Supervise the degrees' shipment.
Skills obtained:
- Draw goods and chattels' inventory up and out-of-order goods' alienation;
- Founds management;
- Order vendors invoices.
I started my experience with MSC Cruises as Entertainer, only a week lather I have been moved to the Kids Club that needed someone who spoke German. Therefore, during my first contract (of only 3 weeks because of seasonal changes) I learnt all the main duties of both positions. From my second contract I embarked as Kids Entertainer but I regularly participated in the Entertainment Team’ and Teenagers’ activities. Afterward I became Teens Entertainer and Chief Entertainer. Due to the fact that I speak six languages I had the chance to carry some hostess and tour leader's tasks out too.
I embarked for 8 seasons (6/9 months each) on 6 different ships of the fleet in the Mediterranean Sea area, North Europe, Caribbean and North America.
Main activities and responsibilities as Entertainer:
- Welcome guests and assist them at all times during the cruise;
- Promote entertainment activities and onboard events;
- Organize and present a varied daytime and evening international entertainment program (shows, games, quizzes, sport...);
- Interaction and socialization with guests at all times;
- Collaborate with other departments during the embarkation and disembarkation procedures and gala nights under the Cruise Director's office supervision;
- Organize entertainment equipment and spaces of use;
- Handle complaints.
Additional activities and responsibilities ad Kids and Teens Entertainer:
- Look after groups of kids and teens of different ages and from different nationalities all day, organizing various and interesting activities in order to create interaction between them;
- Conquer the family trust by organizing family activities.
Additional tasks conducted:
- Escort groups on excursion;
- Translate texts or host in different languages.
See other work experience from October 2013 for more details.
3 weeks stage as per high school's study plan.
Main activities and responsibilities:
- Guests reception;
- Check-in, check-out;
- Booking management;
- Assist in the events and meetings’ organization.
Skills obtained:
- Interact with guests from various nationalities;
- Team work experience.
Thanks to the “Conference hostess” course I took at the Technical Institute for Tourism G. Mazzotti, I had the chance to be a Conference Hostess for many events at:
- the Institute G. Mazzotti, during conferences and open days;
- the Parco Gambrinus Restaurant and Convention Hall, during the Literary Award Giuseppe Mazzotti;
- the Benetton Charity for Cultural Projects, during conventions, exhibits and various works launches.

"I can believe"
May 2014
On the 27th of September, during an event at EXPO Milano 2015, MSC Cruises delivered a 4 millions Euros check collected from cruisers to UNICEF. I have been invited and I volunteered to help with the activities for kids programmed for the occasion. A very popular Italian singer, Cristina D'avena, the choir that sang the MSC for Unicef song and a magician contributed too.
With my great pleasure I had the chance to participate in one of the most important MSC Cruises' projects of the last couple of years: shoot the video for the song "I can believe" interpreted by the Antoniano di Bologna's Piccolo Coro "Mariele Ventre" choir. MSC Cruises and UNICEF launched together this song in order to provide a soundtrack for the found-raising onboard MSC fleet in favor of the children's rights. Personally, it has been amazing to be at the Antoniano because it is a magical place for every kid that watched the "Zecchino D'Oro" on TV and then spent his life singing the Piccolo Coro's songs.
Professionally, it has been a new experience that enriched me a lot because I had the chance to observe both the creation of the song and the video.

Thanks to a scholarship I could realize my dream of studying in the USA. The experience has been amazing personally and professionally because I met a lot of people not only American but from all over the world and I could take classes that in Italy are really difficult to find. The college's environment is very different from the Italian one but I felt like home from the first day and the final grades have been a great satisfaction. During my stay I did not miss the chance to visit Boston, Washington, Philadelphia and spend every weekend in Manhattan dreaming about the day I will move there and work in a city where there is always something to discover and learn.
Taken Courses - Fall Semester 2012:
- Entrepreneurial Journalism
- Advanced Public Relations
- Interpersonal Communication
- Public Speaking
Final evaluation (all courses): A
I choose this high school because I wanted to work on a cruise ship and I knew I would have not go to college after graduation but I would have try to embark as soon as possible. I took advantage of every opportunity the school offered such as extracurricular and evening classes and I tried really hard to succeed and learn as much as I could. After almost 10 years from graduation I can say it was the right choice both professionally and for the bachelor degree I chose to earn.
